Anton Evjen was my grandfather. I grew up on a farm near Porter, MN in Yellow Medicine County. Therefore, Andrew Evjen is my great grandfather also. My grandmother's name was Martha Agnes (Matson) Evjen. It is listed as Martha Agnes (Nelson) Evjen. Her maiden name was Matson and her date of birth was September 15, 1897. There was about a 20 year age difference. Her birth year is shown as 1887. Grandma (Martha Evjen) died on February 1st, 1986 not the 11th. My uncle, Harry Evjen , and my aunt Barbara Ulman are still living and they may have some additional information about his grandfather. My Dad, Alvin Evjen, passed away this year on March 9th, 2000.
