Dear Isabel and all of you,

I want to send you a few lines tonight it will go on the Steamer tomorrow. I wish I could be home with you tonight, as I am sure you are lonely, I have not got any letter from mama so I don't know if she left for Panama today, if she did you will be lonely for a few days but don't worry as everything will go alright. I am glad mama did make up her mind to come it will do her a pile of good to get a little rest, and now you and all of you children want to be good so ma don't have to hear any bad news from you, don't go away from home with anyone, if any want to take you out don't you go. I write you this because you are now old enough to understand me and you do well if you remember. There are all kinds of people in this world of ours and the class that come in automobiles and fine cloths, them are so a ...... the low down rascals, So once more don't go out away from home,

Dear Children,

It is only a day or two since I wrote you, but will write again. I get a little bit homesick once in a while, whenever get to thinking of you, of my little baby Sylvia, and all of you little and big, well I will soon start for home again, as I will leave here the 15th of this month and get to Hasty about the 25th. I have seen all of Cannal zone, and a great deal of old Panama, the Panamanians are about to have Election and here is an awfull noise going on about it, tomorrow evening there will be a big ........ of Colonel Gothals, at the Y.C.C. hotell here, three hundred and fifty people will sitt to table all at one sitting, so you must know it is a big Diningroom, we are invited but I don't think I will go, as I have no dress for such an ocasion, .... and Jed might go, the Marine band will play during the evening, we have been invited out so much that I had to cut it, it keeps me tired and I want.
